Idaho was admitted to the Union as the 43rd state on July 3, 1890 with a population of 88,548; signed into law by President Benjamin Harrison. The Great Northern Railroad was completed across the northern part of the state. Congress passes the Federal Forest Reserve Act. The first legislative and statewide elections were held. First session of the Idaho Legislature meets. Idaho is the 13th largest state in the U.S. This is truly a wonderful place to live!

EAGLE CITY, IDAHO - Wyatt Earp and his wife Josie, opened the White Elephant Saloon here in 1883. His brother James Earp was also living here at the time.
NAMPA, IDAHO - The town was named after a Shoshone Indian Chief who is said to have had feet that were 17" long and 6" wide. * Baseball pitcher, Larry Jackson, was born here in 1931.
PAYETTE, IDAHO - Baseball player Harmon Killebrew was born here in 1936.
BOISE, IDAHO - In 2006 the Boise State Broncos were the only undefeated NCAA college football team in the nation. They capped it by defeating the Oklahoma Sooners in the Fiesta Bowl; 43-42 in overtime.
