PERSONAL JUNK

I love this country though I wasn't born here. I would love to go back to England to see where I was born but unless my condition improves I don't see that happening. Apparently the city I was born in is famous for its ducks! Dad was stationed at the infamous Walker Air Force Base in Roswell, New Mexico when we first came to the U.S. in 1960. I was 3 at the time. My mother is British and dad was Spanish and Filipino and serving in the USAF in England when he met my mom. Quite a combo eh?

Family - I've been married to my wife Mary since 1984. I have two kids. My son Ben did time at Boise State University (on the Dean's List) and my daughter Ashley is considered "high functioning autistic". I probably spend most of my time now helping her try to cope with life. Autism is such a broad spectrum disorder. I'm proud of her though. She toughed it out through high school (through all the teasing and torment from classmates) and got her diploma! Go Ashley!!! I have 4 cats so there is never a dull moment. The rest of my family and relatives are spread out from California to Australia to England.

The EOD community will remain a part of my family as well. I had the pleasure of working with some of the finest men and women I've ever met. I pray we don't keep adding to the EOD Memorial at the rate we have the past few years. Risk has always been part of the job. I don't think anyone could have seen the current situation coming.

Education - Graduated from the University of Bombs and Bullets in Indian Head, Maryland; Class 5B-81, in March 1982. I was 2 Spanish classes, 2 business classes, and 2 accounting classes away from a BS degree in Computer Information Systems before life started getting interesting with assorted medical issues.

Movies - Somewhere in Time; all the Jurassic Park flicks; Dances With Wolves; The Last Samarai. Ghost Rider was pretty hot LOL.

TV Shows - I love Bones, House (go figure), X-Files, Stargate SG-1, Everybody Loves Raymond, My Name Is Earl, and Seinfeld. Baseball or football games other than that. I became a huge Battlestar Galactica fan! When the "new" series came out I pretty much ignored it because I never liked the original Battlestar Galactica. My son finally talked me into it and I ended up buying all the seasons on DVD. Didn't take long to go through 'em either. My timing was great - I only had to wait 3 months for the last six episodes to air on TV. I won't say anything about the ending here, but it is a doozy. I can't wait to see what they come up with in the Fall. Oh yea, there is more coming. :) By far the best TV series I've ever seen IN MY LIFE! If you love sci fi you owe it to yourself.

Food - Mexican, Italian, Korean, hot food, cold food, gee I guess I like most of it. Nachos are always great. I mean the warm kind with melted cheese and jalapenos and stuff. Not the Nachos brand chips. I really love Filipino food, i.e. lumpia, pancit, etc. A nice steak with baked potato is hard to turn down too.

Sports Teams - I'm "Unavailable" during all televised Boise State Bronco football games and all televised Seattle Mariner baseball games! The Mariners will definitely have a better season in 2010 than they did in '09. Meanwhile, the Boise State Broncos have added another "perfect" season going 14-0 after beating TCU in the Fiesta Bowl. Wooooohoooooooooo!!! GO BRONCOS!!!
